Good day, I am researching my roots and would like to find out who Catherine MacArthur's mother was. All I can find is that Catherine's father was 'likely' the legendary Charles MacArthur (a celebrated piper). Catherine MacArthur did marry one known as "Old Donald Nicholson." The research I am doing is somewhat different than most might undertake in that I am attempting to follow the lineage of my maternal links. My mother's mother's mother's mother...etc. I've been fortunate to make the journey for my daughter and am able to provide her with 9 generations of women, from Catherine (nee MacArthur) Nicholson down to my daughter. I don't know if you can help, but I sure would like to know who Charles MacArthur, the famed piper to the MacDonalds, married. Could she have been a MacDonald? What was her first name, last name, or any other information. If you are able to respond with an answer, thank you so very, very much.
